Vacation Bible School is one of the best opportunities a church has for outreach. VBS provides an occasion to invite the entire community to church so they can experience God's love in fresh way. Many churches spend precious hours creating a VBS curriculum with games and songs and a lesson but neglect to invite their neighbors. VBS becomes a week of free child care for church members. It could be so much more. We are passionate about helping churches make the most of their outreach events.

Engage Outreach Ministries does VBS a little differently. In fact, we even call it something different: Family Bible Show. Our FBS is four nights of rapid fun, excitement, and engagement. Illusions and juggling performances guarantee it will be something no one wants to miss. Usually held in the evenings between six and nine, we encourage the whole family to come out. Songs and games give every child a chance to actively participate during FBS. A daily memory verse ensures that a small part of God’s word will be hidden in the child’s heart to serve them for the rest of their lives. Most importantly, every single night the gospel is presented and everyone is given the opportunity to accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

We know that creating a VBS can be a headache for church staff, so we have done as much as possible for the churches we serve. By writing and delivering compelling lessons, creating games, picking out songs and memory verses, and bringing decorations, church staff is freed up to focus on the most important work: building relationships with children and families in their community.

To facilitate relational change, we encourage churches to have as many volunteers at their FBS as possible. When children have questions I always try to direct them back to their pastor or an adult volunteer. This is not because I am unable or afraid to answer their question, but because I know after I leave a church that child will have more questions and I want them to know who to go to. Our FBS is designed to help churches reach out into their communities and build new relationships and make disciples who make disciples.

CELEBRATION Planning Booklet

Operation Gospel is our 2020-21 Curriculum Theme. Every year we create a brand new theme complete with new games, new lessons, and new magic tricks. Extensive records keep magic tricks from being repeated year to year. There should never be a dull moment at a Family Bible School with Engage Outreach Ministries. Operation Gospel will allow children and their families to explore the ways of a secret agent on a mission from God.

Children will jump through lasers like James Bond while learning about the most important mission ever given to mankind. The audience will look for lost treasure like Indiana Jones and uncover buried truths from God’s word. This thrilling Vacation Bible School will be sure to captivate the whole family. Our theme verse is Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." In addition to learning this verse, each night a new memory verse is highlighted that coincides with the lesson. Our mission is to be witnesses for Jesus and each night our program will explore a different area that our mission encompasses.

Night One we will explore how we can be witnesses for Jesus in our immediate context (Jerusalem). Children will be encouraged to be a witness by inviting their friends back to VBS for the following nights. Our mission starts today!

Night Two we will explore how to be witnesses in comfortable, familiar places (Judea). Children will be encourage to be a witness in their schools and teams. We can fulfill our mission by serving others around us!

Night Three we dive into what it looks like to be a witness in uncomfortable places (Samaria). Children will be encouraged to love everyone, even the people we don’t understand or get along with. Our mission extends even to our enemies!

Night Four we will look forward to how we can be witnesses for Jesus everywhere always, even when it gets tough (ends of the earth). Children will be encourage to never give upon our mission because it is for the whole world. Our mission is too important to give up!.
